What a story! You’d think someone would have explained to Ronnie that there were no lights for the show. Maybe she didn’t care! Either way, it sounds like the oversight turned it into the most memorable experience you could ask for. Thanks for sharing.
My parents were friends with Ronnie's husband Jonathan Greenfield's parents for years (his mom, Harriett passed recently, a lovely woman). We went to a show with them at WestConn once (Michael Brecker?), but Ronnie wasn't along. Alas
Standing with the crowd (5,200+!) in Monterey's Window to the Bay park, protesting all things Trump last Saturday. I was wearing my Mission Express t-shirt and two! different people responded with positivity. We weirdos are everywhere!
Oh damn - I’ll be out of town 6/28 but this sounds like it would be so much fun. Putting a vote in for a popup show in SF 🙏🏼🙏🏼. I’d love to see you live and missed your set at The Chapel this year. Thank you for your interview on The Other 22 Hours podcast - I’m in San Francisco and was thrilled to learn about you!
Ronnie's charm and vocal trance -- omg- heaven! No to the cigars! Ifin I bring a ham sammy to your show- I'll not throw it at ya, I'll toss it, them-- (could be multiples w/various cheeses) on the stage for band snacks later---HAHA. Your Summertime Thing festival sounds like a darn good time! Manfriend and I will try to make a trip from the armpit of the South, Tallahassee, FLA!
(In Seth Meyers’ voice): “Kim Gordon grow up. Yer notta Youth any more. Ya burnt.”
With all due respect to one of my other fave Kim bass players, both who are the real Deal ;^)
Wonderful story, thanks for sharing. From a cockney wanker (well, almost) 👍
Hey Chuck--you need to have an East Coast tour in the not too distant future, like next weekend.
I’m getting on a plane tomorrow and headed that way. I better see your ass!
Hey Chuck, I've rented a vintage 1966 Econoline. I can be your your chauffeur between Boston and DC. Where is the first gig, Boss?

My teenage band...Cissy and I played this 45 at least 50 times a day, and then we found the Bettys.
