I believe "Finding Lucinda" has played in Austin and maybe San Fran, so maybe that Landmark Theatre on Monroe Ave. in Atlanta will nab it come the fall.

Dear Producer Prophet,

Speaking of documentaries, the hourlong flick "Finding Lucinda" proved a gem--and folks should know that it was co-produced by none other than Chuck Prophet. Belmont U in Nashville had a free screening yesterday, to great success. I mean, Emmylou Harris was seated behind me for Christ's sake. The arc of the film is the musician Ismay (see the line-up for the festival Chuck is curating this summer) in "search" of Lucinda Williams, playing her own insecurities as a twenty-something artist off against Lucinda's seeming confidence. Many fine moments, including both Lucinda's voice and Ismay's covers of Lu songs. Interviews with the likes of Charlie Sexton & Mary Gauthier. All in all, let's welcome Chuck to the world of the movie mogul.

I am obliged to post a correction. Dick Turpin was indeed initially jailed for a bizarre and relatively trivial offense, for which he gave a pseudonym, and was executed for a more serious offense after his true identity was discovered. I still do believe "The Entirely Made Up Adventures of Dick Turpin" is a funny bit of theater. My apologies for the errors in my previous posting (and any in this one).

Cool. Perhaps you can use your cell phone to scroll into somethingness related to both the made up and real adventures of Dick Turpin (what I have found is very little is known of his "real" adventures, except for the seemingly trivial reason he was executed by hanging). I recommend a full blown computer for such "purposeful scrolling", but I'm 61 years young and using a cell phone to do such "research" is a bit maddening for me. Cheers mate!

And never forget Jerry Lee's TV Preachin' cousin, Jimmy Lee Swaggert. I guess it just runs in the family.

Thanks for sharing the Jerry Lee Lewis and Bo Diddley stuff. Rocking with Sha Na Na. Who would have thought. Gives me a greater appreciation for those fellows (and I see where Johnny Ramone got his wide legged jamming stance from!). I mostly hunker down in my foxhole or walk in the woods here in Minnesota, so any new new stuff or new old stuff usually comes my way courtesy of friends (one recently tipped me off to "The Completely Made Up Adventures of Dick Turpin" - quite funny to me) or courtesy of strangers via the internet (such as your musings and suggestions). So again, thank you. Peace.

Cheers Chuck. I’ll definitely be watching this. There’s some old black & white footage of him in a studio somewhere in the UK, thrashing away at the piano, sweating like a steelworker and surrounded by equally sweaty teenagers who look like they’re all having a religious awakening. I’m assuming that it’ll be in the doc - it’s always stayed front and centre in my mind. On tenterhooks re the album: it can’t come too soon.

This, I will watch! Thanks Chuck. And... thank F (you and whomever else) for new music coming at some point soonish! Can't wait to see you when you come to Seattle. And again... maybe avoid music 'festivals' like Redding. Aye aye aye, you deserved better!
