Great post, Chuck. Amazing gig at The Cluny in Newcastle during the UK tour (including the Elon chant!), and great to catch up with you afterwards. Hope the tour recovery hasn't been too difficult. Happy 90th birthday to your mum, too! 🎂
Such a great tour. Show in Seattle was epic, beautiful, sweet Tractor magic. Thanks again. And the new album is still one of my faves of the last few years. Keep on keepin’ on!
I was lucky enough to see you and your great band last night at The Garage. It was the third time I've seen you live. You opened for someone (Lyle Lovett or John Hiatt?) at the Barbican and I also caught you at The Garage last tour.
I love not only your music but the way you engage with the audience. I'm not a young man and I've seen many many others so when I say I love your show I mean it and last night I brought my 38 year old son along. He was totally unfamiliar with your music but I've got you a new fan.
I just read that last post of yours and I can see you in that truck crying. I hope this time its an easier "cold turkey". It has made me subscribe to your sub stack though!
I’ll fess up: i’ve been having a bit if a rumble parsing the passing of David Johansen. Having Chuck’s “Johnny Thunder’s” tune to fill in the psycho-potholes has helped. Thank you, Chuck…
Ps- Congrats on the tour; hope you find some deserved down town.
Thanks for brightening up our lives over here… and your music continues to do so. When you’re home, continue to brighten up yours. Love, joy & peace, from the UK.
Great writing, thanks for sharing what a toll giving your all out there takes - it's so appreciated. And many thanks for the great show in Norwich Chuck, Eric and I both loved it! I walked through our new little town in Norfolk yesterday listening to CP just smiling and grooving, kind of amazed that we'd just seen you in person - the best. Love to you and Steph and the Cumbia Shoes and hopefully see you again soon.
It's been a great tour Chuck and I mean Really great! It's like that scene in Rumble Fish when Queen Ida is doing her thing, for a brief moment, time freezes and everything makes sense, life can be one hell of a party if we take a walk on the wild side.every now and again. Lou would concur 🙏 I love you man and your the reason it's a pleasure to pick up a guitar each day to keep on trying. Safe travels back, look after yourself and come back to the UK as soon as you can. xx
Oh yes, that scene with Queen Ida under the gazebo in Rumble Fish, That's always been an image that has stuck with me. That's how music should be heard.
I’m going to be the guy who says he’ll miss you before/during/after SXSW this year. It’s been an annual thing for what seems like forever. As my father the Brooklyn Dodgers’ fan used to say: wait till next year!
Hey Chuck - I just wanted to say “thank you” for the tour, I caught you in Stoughton WI and it was a blast! A great performance, my wife and I loved it - the music was great, you and your Cumbia Shoes were amazing! 🤩 A special shout out to bassist Mike Anderson, since he shares my name. We should start a club, I think if we got all the Mike Anderson’s together and took over the world, it would be a much cooler place…
I have to say, I was familiar with a couple of your tunes from years ago (Temple Beautiful album) but have become an actual Chuck Prophet junkie since the concert, I’ve been listening to your entire catalog on Spotify pretty much in exclusion of all else. Absolutely love your music, Wake The Dead is amazing and I love every song, especially love your take on “Sally Was a Cop”. Absolutely perfect album.
Thank you again, please get some rest and live a good life, my friend. Also please consider swinging back through Wisconsin if you decide to hit the road again. Best always to you and yours… M.A.
I love the way you write; I love your honesty, your wit, your sense of humor. You are so real and your humanity absolutely shines through your storytelling. Thanks for being the kind, funny, compassionate, deep human that you seem to be. Your writing strikes a chord - that pun was not intended - but if the (Cumbia) shoe fits.......
Thank you for sharing your stories with us.
P.S. Make yourself go for walks, even if you're feeling lazy - it helps the head and the heart.

There IS a sort of simple magic to it - and I love a night time walk!
God this is gorgeous. You nailed it.
I hope a good nap on that short couch will have you jumping up to do it all again.
I just checked the tour dates. It looks like that nap was of the cat variety.

Thanks for the music
You’re a champion, CP. I hope you’re in Stephanie’s arms soon and nap your ass off. Thank you for the music. We need you well rested.
You are the sweetest. Bring Brian and come see the Rubes Monday at the Makeout. I'll buy you a Coke.
We just might make it this Monday!
Almost felt like I was sitting there on stakeout with you. That's what good writing is all about.

You two. Heroes. Right up there with the best of 'em. Love ya!

On stakeout with Chuck.
It’ll be alright.
Maybe.

Ah man, it was a tough call. Trust me. And thanks!

Got out amongst it last night on foot. Felt great!
You are absolutely right
Gotta get those steps in. Luckily SF is the cool grey city of love and walking is never dull.
