Good to know y'all are stroopwafel lopers. Next time you're in the Netherlands I'll be baking those for you lot. The prepacked ones are for people who don't know any better.

All the best, Chuck, Stephie, everyone! Looking forward to the UK gig at The Cluny in Newcastle, even though I've moved to Newark-on-Trent, since buying the tickets! Didn't see that one coming! 😎

OK, this is the thing Chuck. I’d rather have one really awesome fruitful post than five kind of boring straggly ones. And it also gives me time to catch up on my other Substack readings. So I’m OK with it. And you’re a working guy so I get it. And in the temple of beautiful fruit, there’s nothing like a juicy white nectarine. Happy everything!

Oh my god, that pear. Is that a pear?? lol ... Thanks for your wit and words. I always catch myself smiling. The funny fruit on the plate gets a full out laugh! ... I'm trying to imagine the moment and motive for taking the picture!

During your KEXP interview with DJ Kevin Cole, your mention of Los Bitchos earned you additional merit points. My orange vinyl edition of Wake the Dead is getting a lot of wear. I’ll also be checking out the sounds by the likes of ¿Qiensave?. Thanks for that

I was told that eating the entire Kiwi, skin ‘n’ all, was super good for you, so I did: for a week. I generated enough wind to power Trump Central for a decade.

I just saw you and your Cumbia Shoes in Santander, Spain. It was a great show with really fun energy. I really enjoyed your songwriting and playing and introduced you to my German friend. We loved it.

I also enjoyed reading your conscious stream of thought here on Substack and will be ISO of Stroopwafels and kiwis! Felices fiestas from Santander.

Seeing Steph proffering the pineapple reminds me of the Twyla Tharp/David Byrne production, "The Catherine Wheel". Watch it at <https://archive.org/details/the-catherine-wheel-twyla-tharp-1983>

Chuck you are so right. And I am thankful too. But as far as stairs go, let’s not forget about humping gear on tour. I’m talking bout you, Johnny Brenda’s, and you, The I-Beam, and you, Gabe’s in Iowa City, and that crazy place in Glasgow that was SIX flights. That’s humping. Would I do it again? Sure I will!

At least the Glasgow gig, you can hire Humpers. But, I always think of Gabe’s. Because of the snow. Rough!!!

Those stroopwafels are really something huh... All stroopy and wafely, a real dutch treat. It's good to read that you and your Cumbia Shoes made it back to the US safe & sound. I was lucky enough to attend your last gig "overhere" in Amsterdam, Bitterzoet (bittersweet) and it was awesome. Sound was pretty good, just like the heat.... Music was excellent, new songs landed pretty good and the older ones...well, you were there yourself so you know... Loved the repeated warning for heartattacks, the presence of a couple of ambulances. I survived again, no attack at all ( i had a serious one 15 years ago, i'm heavy on medicine...) so that song must be healing in some sort of way. It was amazing to see and hear how much fans you have overhere, the singing and dancing must have been very rewarding for y'all. Hope to see you another time in the near future, i'll bring you a pack of fresh stroopwafels...
